We’re getting close to playoffs and we’re going to need to qualify two guys just in case. The league requires each of our players to have a minimum of 10 games played in order to be playoff eligible. our 16 regulars are good to go, but I’ve heard Kenny may not be able to make the first two, and who knows who else might not make it?
Mox is sitting at 9 games and Jeffy is sitting at 8. This Saturday, we’re going to fill our bench (and the tiny dressing room) with 16 guys – 15 skaters and Cory. For those keeping track at home, that’ll put Mox at the required 10 games and Jeffy at 9. But that’ll also put us at 9 forwards, 6 defense and a keeper; the most players the Burn has ever had on the bench at one game, which is surprising considering we’re carrying 16 regular, full-time beer-leaguers.
With this many bodies one of two things will inevitably happen. We’ll either dominate with amazingly fresh legs on every shift or we’ll become confused and disoriented and mess everything up. The noontime matinée game doesn’t really help matters. One of the other upsides is that if (when) we run into penalty trouble, we won’t have to shift any of our forwards to the blue line.
Well, now that I’ve given any astute (bored) Longhorn’s team member some insider information, it’s time to prepare for a weekend full of fun and excitement. Let’s all be ready to come out fighting and prepared to sit shoulder-to-shoulder in a crowded bench.
Goats.
